Temporarily Absent from Work due to Illness or Injury

An employee is considered temporarily absent from work due to illness or injury if:
  • they have provided a medical certificate or statutory declaration in relation to an illness or injury within 24 hours after the beginning of their absence from work (or a longer period if reasonable); or
  • they have complied with any notification requirements set out in a workplace instrument.
