Leave accrual during keeping in touch days
Does an employee who is on parental leave accrue leave entitlements during keeping in touch days?
Generally, a keeping in touch day will count as service and will accrue leave entitlements. For the purpose of keeping in touch days, 1 hour or more of paid work activity counts as 1 day. This counts towards the 10-day limit. Furthermore, a keeping in touch day does not break the continuity of the period of unpaid parental leave, and does not have the effect of extending the period of unpaid parental leave.
