How does annual leave entitlements interact with the duration of parental leave (12 months). e.g if an employee decides to take annual leave at the start of their parental leave period, does it count towards their 12 month period?
Employees can take paid or unpaid leave at the same time as parental leave. The 12 month period of parental leave is not interrupted if they do so (but it is interrupted if they return to work).
