We are currently managing a potential redundancy. We have offered the individual in the position at risk of redundancy alternative employment in a position that is within their area of expertise however at a lower level of seniority and remuneration. If they accept this position, will we still need to pay their redundancy entitlements?
If the employee agrees to continue his/her employment in the new role, then there is no termination of employment, and so, that employee has no entitlement to redundancy pay.
