The Case

Scyne Advisory Business Services Pty Ltd v Heaney (2024)

Scyne Advisory Business Services Pty Ltd (Scyne), which provided consultancy services to the Department of Defence, employed Ms Heaney.

Ms Heaney resigned from Scyne in November 2023, indicating her intention to move to the Downer Group, a competitor of Scyne. Downer Group also serviced the Department of Defence. Scyne placed Ms Heaney on gardening leave until her employment finished on 29 February 2024.
