The Case

Lamb v RPS AAP Consulting Pty Ltd (2022)

RPS AAP Consulting Pty Ltd (RPS) employed Ms Lamb in the position of National Lead, Strategy and Transformation in its Sydney office. Ms Lamb commenced a casual romantic relationship with Mr Sherman, a work colleague in RPS’s Brisbane office. Ms Lamb made it clear she wished to keep the relationship a secret from RPS.

Ms Lamb’s manager, Mr Stamatoudis, became aware of the relationship. Ms Lamb alleged Mr Stamatoudis repeatedly asked her personal questions about her relationship with Mr Sherman, which she found intrusive. Mr Stamatoudis claimed the questions were limited to those concerning what he saw as a potential conflict of interest.
