What are your employees’ parental leave entitlements?

Definition: Parental Leave

Parental leave is an employee’s entitlement to time off work to care for a child.

Employees have two types of parental leave entitlements:

  • paid parental leave; and
  • unpaid parental leave.

Your employees may be entitled to paid parental leave through:

  • the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) scheme;
  • your workplace parental leave policy; and/or
  • any applicable employment contract or enterprise agreement.
