What are your employees’ parental leave entitlements?
Definition: Parental Leave
Parental leave is an employee’s entitlement to time off work to care for a child.
Parental leave is an employee’s entitlement to time off work to care for a child.
Employees have two types of parental leave entitlements:
- paid parental leave; and
- unpaid parental leave.
Paid parental leave entitlements
Your employees may be entitled to paid parental leave through:
- the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) scheme;
- your workplace parental leave policy; and/or
- any applicable employment contract or enterprise agreement.
